Refund and cancellation policy

This policy applies to advisory engagements offered by Content Sprucefield (Pty) Ltd: website security assessments, hosting security reviews, monitoring guidance retainers, and incident readiness sessions.

Eligibility

Refunds apply to fees paid directly to us for scoped engagements. Informational rates on this site are not invoices. Third-party hosting or software licence fees are outside this policy.

Timeframe

Refund requests should be emailed to hello@content-sprucefield.click within 14 days of the event giving rise to the request, and no later than 30 days after the engagement end date stated in the scope.

Full refund

A full refund is available if we cancel an engagement before work begins, or if you cancel in writing at least five business days before the agreed start date and we have not commenced collection or workshop preparation.

Partial refund

If work has started — for example, access has been used or a draft findings section exists — we may refund the unused portion after deducting time already spent at the rates in the scope. Monitoring retainers billed monthly may receive a pro-rata credit for full unused weeks when cancelled with 14 days’ notice.

Non-refundable items

  • Completed assessments, reviews, or workshops once the deliverable has been issued
  • Deposits marked non-refundable in the scope when a reserved date blocked other work
  • Third-party room hire booked at your request for on-site sessions

Refund process and timing

Email hello@content-sprucefield.click with your name, scope reference, and reason. We confirm eligibility within five business days. Approved refunds are returned by the original payment method within 10–15 business days of approval.

Cancellation and rescheduling

You may reschedule a readiness session once without fee if you give at least three business days’ notice. Later changes may incur a rescheduling fee stated in the scope. We will propose a new date within 15 business days where capacity allows.

Deposits and no-shows

Where a deposit reserves a workshop date, failure to attend without notice forfeits the deposit. Remaining balances are reviewed case by case.

Work already started and materials

Time spent on collection, analysis, or playbook drafting is billable. Printed materials prepared for a session are non-returnable once produced.

Exceptions

Statutory rights under South African consumer law remain unaffected where they apply. Active incident response scoped separately from readiness workshops follows that engagement’s written terms.
