About
Security guidance grounded in how small South African sites are actually hosted
Content Sprucefield helps owners and operators understand website exposure, hosting configuration, and monitoring habits — without taking over their panels.
Official name and history
Content Sprucefield (Pty) Ltd was established in 2018 in Emfuleni, Sedibeng. The practice began when local business owners kept asking the same question after malware cleanups and failed renewals: what should we watch next month so this does not repeat?
Early work focused on shared-hosting WordPress and brochure sites common across Gauteng. Over time the offer widened to structured website security assessments, hosting security reviews, monitoring guidance retainers, and incident readiness sessions — still delivered as human advisory work rather than a managed product.
Mission
Give site owners a clear order of work for website and hosting security, written in language their developer, host support team, or office manager can follow.
Working approach
We prefer read-focused access, written scope, and findings that name concrete panel settings, DNS records, and alert habits. Change control stays with you. Where an on-site conversation helps, we meet around Tugela Street in Emfuleni or join remotely across South Africa.
Values
- Specificity over scare language
- Remediation lists sized for the team you actually have
- Documentation that survives staff turnover
- Respect for existing hosts and budgets
